Welcome to our monthly night at The Fox & Newt… it’s called Patches. Presented by Not a thing. Events x Symmetrical Feelings . It’s an open genre night with performances by three local acts – some new and upcoming, some already well known. No matter how loud a night it is, whether it’s seating, pit or dancing, we want it to be the closest to the band you’re ever going to get. Doors 8pm, music 8–10pm – £6 advance or £8 on the door. This Month… The Venus Children – Instagram A Leeds psych four-piece dealing in bass-heavy grooves, phased walls of guitar and hypnotic hooks, with a stubborn refusal to settle into 4/4. Formed in late 2024, they’ve worked their way through Oporto, Royal Park Cellars and a headline at The Library, and released debut single “Rollercoaster” ahead of their debut album “The Ingredient”. Dial an Octopus – Instagram Abstract experimental folk-rock with a punk edge, bringing esoteric lyricism to Leeds – there are no rules to follow. To hear more, just Dial An Octopus. Isaac Aylward – Instagram Emerging in 2021 from Leeds, Isaac Aylward blends synth pop, blues, jazz, comedy and folk into his songwriting. A keyboardist and songwriter whose lyrics are conjured from the everyday, he has performed at several venues across the Leeds music scene, including The Attic, where he won over the crowd with his song Don’t Know What to Make of You. His solo material draws influence from Bo Burnham, Tim Minchin and Bill Bailey, and, ideally, you’ll leave his shows with a chorus in your head and some sentiment about how it’s okay if your Northern Rail train is late (again) because you’re worth more than that.

Somewhere between a jam and an open-mic night, for funk and funk adjacent music only… Doors at 7pm, all done by 11pm… FREE ENTRY all night long. The House Band kick things off (and close it down) – we have drums, bass amp, guitar amp and keys, plus a bunch of vocal mics. Sohini Kaur Sohini Kaur is a soulful and agile Soprano vocalist, performer and songwriter who seamlessly blends RnB, Pop and Soul influences with her Indian classical roots to create a unique yet nostalgic sound in her own music. From writing and arranging classic RnB tracks to grand pop ballads, Sohini embodies raw emotion and energy into live performances with her versatile band for an overall immersive experience. Currently based in Leeds, Sohini has been dominating the northern music scene as she recently sold out her headline show at Oporto, promoting her debut single “Makin Me”! Marmalade Skyes Marmalade Skyes is the captivating project of singer-songwriter Asher Hayes, featuring a commanding live band that brings her rich and soulful style to life. Marmalade Skyes showcases dramatic dynamic changes from soft, intricate folk inspired guitar melodies, to jazz influenced harmony and heavy, distorted cressendos, pulling forward a sense of grit and groove to her music. Asher’s songs range from clean guitar tones to sub octave bass parts, creating a very individual sound. Asher uses a wide range of musical influences from Jazz, Folk and Alternative when writing. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lianna La Havas and more alternative bands such as Radiohead, the variety helps to create the intricate and exciting sound. Marmalade Skyes uses poetry and metaphor to explore themes of introspection and story-telling exploring her own life experiences from relationships, addiction, regret and acceptance of the trials and tribulations of life as a young woman. Asher’s raw vulnerability makes for deeply moving lyrics. From performing sell out Leeds shows to gaining over 40 thousand streams on her demo release Aphrodite, Marmalade Skyes is on an exciting trajectory – a rising talent with enchanting vocals and a compelling artistic vision. Highlights so far for Marmalade Skyes have been performing her original music on stages such as Live at Leeds, Leeds jazz festival and Manchester’s beloved Band on the wall. Asher is in the process of recording and releasing her debut Single ‘Gimme Love & Gardens’ in summer 2026, followed by a 4 single Campaign. Timings Doors 8pm
