Welcome to our monthly night at The Fox & Newt… it’s called Patches. Presented by Not a thing. Events x Symmetrical Feelings . It’s an open genre night with performances by three local acts – some new and upcoming, some already well known. No matter how loud a night it is, whether it’s seating, pit or dancing, we want it to be the closest to the band you’re ever going to get. Doors 8pm, music 8–10pm – £6 advance or £8 on the door. This Month… Ada Blue – Instagram Ada Blue is a Derbyshire/Leeds based singer-songwriter who has taken the modern day music scene by lightening. Her innovative melodies, combined with imaginative and introspective lyrics create an indescribable aura of sound which leaves listeners captivated. Not only is she a talented writer, but her ability to allure a crowd is beyond amazing. Joel Mallen – Instagram Northern native Joel Mallen makes existentialism catchy. A producer, singer and songwriter, the summery indie-tinged sound of the Rapture EP is now giving way to darker worlds of atmospheric electronica and progressive pop. FFO: Sampha, James Blake, Caroline Polachek Jim Green – Instagram A 90’s inspired Indie artist characterised by big chords, unique riffs and inquisitive vocals. With hair as long as his sound is big. Leeds-based Jim Green’s melodic tendencies layer every song with an unbeatable charismatic charm.

Not a thing. presents – The Return of Funk Jam @ The Vinyl Whistle, Headingley, Leeds, Somewhere between a jam and an open-mic night, for funk and funk adjacent music only… Doors at 7pm, all done by 10:30ish… FREE ENTRY all night long. The House Band kick things of (and close it down) – we have drums, bass amp, guitar amp and keys, plus a bunch of vocal mics. Everyone plays 2 tunes – bands go on as ‘a set’ but everyone else, it’s closest to the stage next. Come down, listen, jump on another lineup, or jam. Funk around and find out® xx

NoizHeadz and not a thing presents: Leeds-based six-piece Jazz Fusion band Murgatroyd celebrate the release of their second single with a special headline show at The Attic, Leeds, whilst also announcing their partnership with the Rave Promotion ‘NoizHeadz’. Blending jazz, R&B and jungle, Murgatroyd deliver a high-energy fusion set with a new electronic edge. Following a successful debut single and a performance at We Out Here Festival, the band continue to push their genre-crossing sound forward. Support comes from: Tonii – A Leeds-based singer, songwriter and producer whose music blends nostalgia and futurism through immersive live electronic performance. Slow Loris – An experimental rock four-piece based between Leeds and Manchester, fusing jagged alt-rock, progressive structures, nu-metal weight and electronic textures into intense instrumental journeys.

Chlöe With a full band behind her, Chlöe brings to the stage a genre blend of soft folk rock, with her harmonious guitar melodies, rhythmic drums and strong vocals. Inspired by artists such as Elbow, Beabadoobie, The Beatles, and Fleetwood Mac. Ian Nyachoti Kenyan singer-songwriter, Ian Nyachoti, curates a journey through their performances and aims to lyrically empower their audience. Their compellingly expressive vocals ring across rich basslines, rhythms and harmonies creating a seamless mesh of sonic wonder. The Alternative Soul artist is influenced by the likes of Janelle Monáe, Moses Sumney & Hiatus Kaiyote. Their eclectic sound palate is a result of their extensive study of various genres and growing up in the multicultural capital city of Nairobi. Soon, they plan to release their debut project.
